Public Safety
I’ve dedicated my life to public safety, especially protecting Montana’s most vulnerable children and families.
From my early days working in group homes and child protective services, to my over fifteen years at the Montana Department of Justice, I’ve worked firsthand to build safer communities and I know what it takes to drive crucial improvements in our public safety. I’ve led statewide efforts to combat human trafficking, helped prosecute child sex crimes, and built the teams of social workers, law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, and medical professionals who stand between children and those who would harm them.
I’ve traveled across Montana to train professionals and support local law enforcement agencies. I have facilitated the launch of nine nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Centers, providing spaces across our State where children can begin to heal and justice can be pursued.
Public safety isn’t just a talking point for me. It’s been my life’s work.
As your legislator, I will work to ensure law enforcement and victim services have the resources they need, human trafficking and exploitation are confronted head-on, and root causes like addiction, poverty, and lack of access to mental health care are addressed to achieve long-term, sustainable solutions.
Safe communities don’t happen by accident, they’re built by people who show up, do the work, and never stop fighting for what’s right. That’s exactly what I’ve done, and what I’ll continue to do as your State Senator.
