Cost of Living

Every day, I hear from my neighbors that everything just costs too much. Home prices and rent are out of control; childcare, food, and energy prices keep climbing; and healthcare remains unaffordable. Helena has always been a safe, affordable place to raise a family and enjoy retirement. We can’t let that slip away, which is one of the biggest reasons I want to serve you in the Montana Legislature. 

 

I hear from young working families who are struggling to afford quality childcare, and from seniors who are worried about rising healthcare costs and keeping up with household expenses. Too many Montanans feel like they’re working harder but falling further behind and the Legislature isn’t doing enough to address the real cost of living challenges we are facing every day.

Property taxes and housing costs continue to put pressure on homeowners and renters, and utility and cable bills keep climbing with little oversight or accountability. Whether it's heating your home or paying for everyday essentials, costs are rising and families, retirees, and small businesses are being asked to bear the burden.

The leaders running our state are failing to deliver a Montana that provides an affordable place to raise a family, enjoy retirement. They are failing to develop or deliver a plan to stop our rising costs. It’s time for the Legislature to start prioritizing the day-to-day lives of Montanans and to stop wasting time telling us what to think and what to believe. Enough is enough.
